Prevent Cancer Super ColonTM Exhibit

The Calhoun County Fair will be held August 17 - 20, 2010, at the Calhoun County Fairgrounds in Marshall. The 5C will have the Prevent Cancer Foundation Super ColonTM at the fair to help educate the public on colon cancer.

What is the Prevent Cancer Super ColonTM?

This inflatable, walk-through colon is an interactive educational tool that is teaching people all across America about colorectal cancer. As visitors walk through the Prevent Cancer Foundation Super ColonTM, they get a close up look at healthy tissue, tissue with non-malignant colorectal diseases such as Crohn's and colitis, as well as tissue with various stages of colorectal cancer. The Cancer Research and Prevention Foundation developed the exhibit as a way to promote colorectal cancer screening by encouraging visitors to begin a discussion about this "embarrassing" or taboo cancer.

A Mock Procedure Room?

That’s right; see what you can expect when you have a colonoscopy. It’s not as scary as you think.
